A Campaign for CMYSA to Carry on Selke Field’s Legacy

WHY PURCHASE SELKE FIELD?

For over a decade, I’ve had the honor of serving this club—as a coach, a Director of Coaching, and now as your club president—and what’s kept me going is simple: the power of our community. 


CMYSA has always been about more than soccer ;it’s about building character, creating opportunity, and connecting kids and families through the game we love. Today, we have a rare chance to take the next big step—purchasing Selke Field as our club’s first permanent home. 


Over the next few months, we’ll be working to secure funding through donors, sponsorships, and matching campaigns to make this dream a reality. But this isn’t just a fundraising effort—it’s a community-building one.


Owning Selke would give us a true base to grow from, one that increases access, strengthens community ties, improves how we serve our players, and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come. In the months ahead, we’ll be working hard to secure funding through generous donors, sponsorships, and matching campaigns to make this dream a reality—and we hope you’ll join us. OUR GOALS

We have three goals to achieve owning and maximizing its impact on the community: 

Goal 1: Fund the Down Payment

Amount: $100,000

Purpose: Down payment to secure the Selke Field mortgage

Target Date: May 5

Why: This unlocks the property and puts us on the path to permanent ownership.

Goal 2: Fund the Full Loan

Anticipated Amount: $300,000

Purpose: Pay off the Selke Field purchase in full

Target Date: May 5

Why:  Paying in full reduces long-term costs and frees us to reinvest directly into programming and development.

Goal 3: Build for Day One—And Every Day After

Amount: $800,000
Purpose: Cover Year 1 operations and key upgrades at Selke Field
Target Date: August 15

Why: From turf installation and parking lot upgrades to facility improvements and field maintenance, this ensures Selke is fully equipped to serve our players and community from day one—and for years to come.

  • Why Selke?

    • 8 full-size, age-appropriate fields + 1 training area

  • Why does CMYSA need a permanent home?

    We currently rely on renting fields. Owning Selke gives us stability, long-term growth potential, and enhancing experiences for players, coaches, and families.

  • What’s the timeline for this project?

    We aim to close on Selke Field within the next few months. Phase 1 field upgrades would follow soon after, with long-term plans for securing operational expenses, renovating the Selke wall, and additional facilities. 

  • How much are you trying to raise?

    Our total goal is $340,000 to cover the down payment, purchase, and initial operational costs.

  • What happens if the campaign falls short?

    We’re committed to transparency. If we cannot meet our fundraising milestones, we’ve chosen the GoFundme platform to make refunding simple.  However, we are parallel pathing a plan B if Selke field isn’t a viable option for the club.  At that time, anyone who has donated can decide to help with those efforts or secure a refund. 

  • What will the complex include?

    8 fields, a training area, digital scoreboard, storage, and renovating the Selke wall.  There are dreams of year round soccer at the facility.  However, step one is acquiring the field and enhancing the current fields and infrastructure. 

  • Will Selke be used for more than CMYSA soccer?

    Absolutely. The complex will serve youth programs, adult leagues, nonprofit events, and general 

    community enrichment opportunities.


  • How can I support the campaign financially?

    Donate directly, become a sponsor, or take part in upcoming matching campaigns. Every contribution counts.

  • Are there sponsorship levels available?

    Yes. From naming rights to rec team sponsorships, there are levels for businesses, families, and individuals. Please see the donation page for more information.
