Each rec player may request only one friend for K through 8 (players must both request each other). 9-12 can make up to 4 friend requests. The player request is an option during the on-line registration. Teams are formed in a random draw fashion with some sorting based on player experience to help create a fair/balanced distribution of playing talent among all teams participating

  • Where do I request a coach?

CMYSA does not accept a player request for a specific coach.

  • Why don’t we keep league standings for K - 5?

Recreational soccer is designed to teach players soccer skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. Participation and fun are emphasized, not competition. If your child is interested in a more focused and competitive soccer experience, check out our “Travel” program.

  • Is is possible for me to coach my child's team

Our rec program thrives on the involvement of parent coaches.  For more information on being a volunteer coach please see this page - Coach Information

  • Why do the younger kids play small sided games?

Small sided games allow for more touches for each player. This is crucial to the skill development of young players. The decision-making and tactics are also simpler in small sided games, which allow young players to learn the game more effectively. Small sided games are supported by CMYSA, MYSA and the US Soccer Federation.

  • When can I register for rec soccer?
